The Big City…

Its been a little while since my last update as my little island life has been exchanged for a slightly colder, larger life for the past few weeks! I have had to trade bikinis and shorts for another form of clothing which I am not sure  I can get used to:)

After a crazy year I packed my bags to spend Christmas and the new Year with my amazing family in the UK! Since my arrival back in the UK it has been non stop but I have loved every second of being here and everything I have experienced and conquered (such as the underground) 🙂

Although many miles have been covered along the South Coast to see family, catch up with friends and to meet with my fantastic new sponsors Urban Beach and Osprey UK I have enjoyed my little adventures and can safely say I have filled my yearly quota for trains and tubes!

I also had the privilege of shooting some beautiful New Balance Products with the talented Rich Maciver in London. I had so much fun shooting with Rich and he is so talented…get in touch with him if you are looking to have any shots done, you will not be disappointed! I have to say a massive thank you to Sport Stylist for all your help with this shoot, New Balance for your amazing products and Rich for making the shoot so much fun!! Here are a few behind the scene shots from the day…

I am now packing my bags for the short flight to Scotland for two days, where I will be meeting with my ‘hydrating’ sponsors Deeside Water! I am really excited about this trip as I have never been to Scotland and it has been on my list of places to go since relocating to the UK. I will be sure to update with lots of pics and news on that soon!

All in all this year has honestly been one of the most exciting, crazy and rewarding years of my life. After starting last year off with a broken hand, a family loss, plans to start a new business as well as so many other ventures I finished off 2013 exactly where I wanted to be and more. I have been so blessed to sign with not one but SEVEN incredible sponsors, launching Ohana Fitness and Surf, hosting my first bootcamps in Fuerteventura, signing with W Athletic – Europe’s Top Lifestyle and Sport Agency, shooting some exciting campaigns, having the privilege of helping others achieve their health, fitness and surfing goals as well as receiving so much support for my ventures in business and sport for this year!

On a personal note, my family and I have achieved so much this year in all aspects of our lives since making the massive move to the UK about 6 years ago and I could not be happier!

This year is going to be massive and I am totally ready for it!

As cliche as this may sound – DO NOT GIVE UP…EVER! Your mind and the words spoken over your life are so powerful, so use them to achieve great things!

HAPPY NEW YEAR…

Ready for 2013

Its been over a month since my last up date and so much much has happened in that time. I am still currently in the very cold UK as I will be starting physio on my hand soon. Breaking my hand has really been such a learning curve. I have gone from surfing every day, training and feeling really strong so not even being able to pick a spoon up and only being able to do very limited training. I  have definitely learned a new level of patience. I decided to use this experience to focus on the things I have been putting off doing and not finishing for a long time. I have had some exciting  sponsor offers, working on magazine features, finishing the final stages of my new business I will be launching soon…watch this space… as well as some interesting future plans with charities here in the UK. I am really excited to see what else this year will bring! I should be back in the Canaries at the end of the month and back into a new training regime and surf training.I cant wait!

Wishing you all a prosperous year!

Broken bone :(

Hello everyone!

So my last session was cut very short after a heavy wipeout which left me with a broken metacarpal in my left hand. After having a cast on for three days now I am already extremely frustrated, so I am trying to focus on land based adventures, training and my trip home for Christmas:)Estimated time  of recovery is three weeks minimum…it might be the longest three weeks ever. Here is a little reminder of that day 🙂
